If you are a blogger then you must be looking to monetize the website. When it comes to monetization, the first thing in mind that comes is Google Adsense. However, the quality standards of Adsense have become a lot stricter than ever before and getting approval is really difficult. When Adsense disapproves your website, then I suggest you keep improving your website till you get the approval. But till then you may choose any of the Adsense alternatives for monetization. So let us discuss the Adsense alternative in detail.
It can be very tricky to choose the right alternative as there are a lot of scams that are happening nowadays. It is very important to choose the right one because we really expect to earn from it. However, if something bad happens then believe me it is a very tense situation.
Adsense alternative #1 – Adsterra
When my AdSense request was rejected, I went on youtube and found everyone was talking about Adsterra. It looked very promising.
I decided to give it a go and I was amazed to know how easy it was to start ads from Adsterra. I have created a tool where people can convert images into a link to use on Facebook. The traffic on this tool is exceptionally good. I was certain that I will be earning a good revenue. But the max CPM that I received was $1 per 1000 impressions. There were many clicks as well; my CTR was around 10%.
One day, Adsterra blocked the account and I earned somewhere around $75. It was shocking to me. The reason for the account block stated “Our advertisers have complained about you and hence your account is blocked and money is being returned to our advertisers”.
What a lame reason, isn’t it?
Why I don’t recommend using Adsterra?
One that their ad quality was very low, they even served adult ads sometimes. I had chosen not to show adult ads while setting up the ads. Secondly. when I used Google ads, to promote my page, the ad was not approved. The reason for the ad rejection was “malicious software” on the webpage. Google treats Adsterra code as malware. Hence, I never recommend Adsterra as an Adsense alternative.
If you want to get your website penalized by Google, then sure you can use it.
#2 Monetag
After I stopped using Adsterra, I stumbled upon a Google ad. It said, Adsterra alternative. I clicked it and started using it. The interface is much like Adsterra. Looks like an irate publisher launched his own platform against Adsterra.
Till now, I am using it. The max CPM I earned is the same as Adsterra, i.e. $1 per 1000 impressions. One more thing that I like about it, the minimum withdrawal is $5 through PayPal. In Adsterra, it was $100 for PayPal.
Till now, everything is good with Monetag and I have withdrawn my first $5 recently. Ads quality is really good.
#3 Ezoic
Everyone talks very highly about Ezoic when it comes to Adsense alternative. But when I decided to get ads from them, they asked me to connect my Cloudflare. As I am a very technically sound person, I was really sceptic about it. I finally decided to find out what they are actually trying to do.
I connected my website using Cloudflare and after a day I received an email that my website was not approved. The reason mentioned was “Too less Traffic”. I moved on.
The very same day, I was trying to update a blog on my website. But the website was not behaving as usual nor blog images and CSS changes were updating. I thought my website was hacked.
Finally, I figured it out, Ezoic made heavy changes to my Zone and DNS in Cloudflare. I had to reset the Cloudflare to make it work again.
Final Adsense alternative – Yandex
You must have heard the name. It is the biggest search engine in Europe. They have it all usually what Google offers. I applied there and got my website approved within 24 hours.
And after placing the necessary codes by them, ads started to serve within 5 minutes. I am still using it. But the CPM is not that great. The CPM that I receive is $0.01. 1 cent for 1000 impressions. Yes, you read that right.
The reason for using it till now is, I got it approved last week only. It takes at least 2 weeks and the CPM is adjusted to the higher side. I will be using it for a month more to see what exactly happens.
What do I suggest?
I have had my personal experiences with all 4 of them. I would recommend going with Monetag and Yandex as your Adsense alternative. Stay away from Adsterra, or even run when you hear that name again. With Ezoic, it is more of a technical gamble. If you wish to opt out of the Ezoic one day, and you are not that tech-savvy then it will be really troublesome for you.
Always remember, the final decision will be yours. These were only my personal experiences.
